Things That Happened in Fiction This Week: Writing in general has been super slow for me lately, but… I figured out something was missing from the draft and had to backtrack a bit to add it in. The missing piece was a character. A very special furry character. I had to add a dog. The dog is going to be super important later, so I couldn’t believe that I’d missed the dog.
Things that Happened in Real Life This Week: I’ve had a hard time with focus this week. I’ve been trying to concentrate on the Zero Draft of TotC so I can get it done before the workshop at the end of August, but I go days now without writing when a few hours without writing made me twitch. It makes me wonder if I’m losing my excitement for writing. I still enjoy it, still love it, but what happens if I can live without it now? Not to mention that I have two or three things from people that I need to read and critique for them, and I’ve had zero drive to do that as well.
It’s not that I’m tired of the story. I’m really not. I’m always excited about the story, and the direction it is taking. I think about it alot but when it comes time to write it… Well, maybe it’s just a current funk that I’m in with everything that’s going on this week. My grandpa had a heart attack his doctor was surprised he survived. I finally got all my stuff at the Art Institute all situated. I had orientation this week.
It’ll be fun to start something new. It might jar my creativity loose and get me into doing things the way I’m used to doing them. I hope so. I’d really like to get this draft done before the fall semester starts at my other school.
Well, break time is over. Writing time awaits, so I guess it’s time to get back to work.
