I totally spaced this week’s update. I was so tired and about to go to bed and then I happened to check something and it hit me that I hadn’t updated this week.
Week 5 of 2010 Writing Updates
Project Title: FULL CIRCLE
Genre: Young Adult Urban Fantasy
Total New Words: 396
Goal: Final Read Through
Current Progress: 75,415/75,000
Things That Happened in Fiction This Week: I took the new first chapter to the critique and got some impressions of it. It seemed to be positive…Some minor things, like I introduced Smith and promptly forgot to include her in the end of the scene I introduced her in. I’d forgotten I’d shuffled some paragraphs there and the transitions between paragraphs were still rough.
Project Title: Untitled Steampunk Novel
Genre: Steampunk with Paranormal Elements
Total New Words: 144
Goal: No goal, because I want to finish the novella first
Current Progress: 5,466/100,000
Things That Happened in Fiction This Week: I haven’t really worked on this story beyond some plotting in SuperNoteCard and a couple of scenes I wrote long hand in class.
Project Title: Samhain Anthology Steampunk Story
Genre: Steampunk Romance
Total New Words: 5,924
Goal: No Goal. I’m still in the pre-planning stages
Current Progress: 5,924/30,000
Things That Happened in Fiction This Week: I’m completely stuck on this story and I know it’s because I’m trying to force it. I took a wrong turn somewhere. So, I’m going to have to back off for a day or two and do some plot brainstorming and see if I can fix it. I hope it starts flowing soon.
Things That Happened in Real Life This Week: Yeah, I went to school, I came home… That’s about it. Life was boring this week.
Things That Happened That Are Crafty This Week: I still haven’t gone to get the stuffing yet, but I’m not too worried about it because I really don’t have the money to buy stuffing anyway.
